How Placetta submits your filings

What happens after you tap Approve and file, and when Placetta asks you for help.

What happens after you approve

  1. Placetta checks the application against the agency's requirements: every line filled, every document attached, the signature where the agency takes one.
  2. It submits exactly what you approved, by email from your connected mailbox, by fax, by certified mail or on the agency's website. Nothing you didn't approve is ever sent.
  3. It saves the confirmation, fax report or mail tracking to Documents, and every step shows in the application's progress and your audit trail.

When Placetta asks you

Placetta stops and shows a Finish this step card when the agency asks for a CAPTCHA, an identity check (such as ID.me or Login.gov), a code sent to your phone, its fee, or a handwritten signature. Open the agency's page from the card, do that one step, then tap I've done it, carry on. Placetta never types a card or bank number and never enters a Social Security, ITIN or passport number.

When the team takes over

If an agency isn't switched on for automatic filing yet, or a page looks different from what Placetta expects, the Placetta team submits it instead. Nothing is ever submitted twice.
